greenery
The work in greenery examines sites of transition between inside and outside, abstraction and representation, domesticity and landscape. The series includes paintings containing text fragments with highly rendered still life objects in lush, painterly environments; photographs of landscapes read through letterpress printed phrases; photographs looking through various windows or frames with embroidery and letterpress texts overlaid. These pieces join visual representations of nature and culture, arresting both in a frozen moment meant to evoke our collective inaction on the climate crisis.
